FLOCCULANTS

The bridge between polymeric materials and individual particles is called flocculation. Bridge formation allows the polymer chains to absorb different particles and help the particles to collapse in bulk. Foculants carry active charge groups to balance the electrical charges carried by the particles. Flocculants (Polyelectrolytes) cause precipitation by absorbing particles and destabilization through bridging or neutralization.
